Makerfabs MaTouch ESP32-S3 MaUWB SPI TFT Touch 3.95" ST7796 specifications

The MaTouch ESP32-S3 MaUWB 3.95-inch combines a touch display with ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning. The 480×320 screen uses an ST7796 over SPI with backlight control, and a capacitive FT6336U handles touch.

The built-in MaUWB module works on UWB channel 5 (6489.6 MHz) at 850 kbps or 6.8 Mbps, and supports up to 8 anchors and 64 tags — enough for indoor positioning, distance measurement or proximity-triggered displays. An ESP32-S3 with 16 MB of flash and 8 MB of PSRAM drives both.

It can run from USB-C or a LiPo battery with an on-board charger, and two JST 1.25 mm connectors provide expansion. Both a native USB port and a CH340K USB-to-UART are on board. LCD Ultra Pro's export includes the display and touch driver, so you can focus on the interface around your UWB code.

Free GPIOs and connectors

This board has no free GPIOs: every pin is used by the display, touch or on-board peripherals.

Good to know before you start

  • The UWB module is a separate radio; positioning needs your own anchor/tag setup and code.
  • Some display pins in the public pinout are marked as not fully confirmed by Makerfabs; the export uses the manufacturer's example configuration.
  • Portrait and landscape are both supported.
  • There are no plain free GPIOs; use the two JST connectors.

What it is good for

  • •Indoor positioning displays
  • •Asset and person tracking terminals
  • •Distance-triggered information screens
  • •UWB development with a built-in UI
