Makerfabs MaTouch Lite ESP32-S3 SPI Resistive Touch 2.4" ST7789 specifications

The MaTouch Lite ESP32-S3 2.4-inch (model MTESP32S3R2.4) is Makerfabs' budget display board: a 2.4-inch 320×240 SPI screen with an ST7789V controller and a resistive touch panel read by an NS2009 over I2C.

Despite the low price, it uses an ESP32-S3 with 16 MB of flash and 8 MB of PSRAM, so images and smooth LVGL animations are no problem. It has two USB-C connections — a CH340K USB-to-UART and the ESP32-S3's native USB — and an SD card slot.

Because the display uses SPI rather than a parallel bus, Makerfabs leaves plenty of GPIOs free on an expansion header: thirteen of them in our data, which makes it a good base for sensor projects such as Makerfabs' own temperature, humidity, CO2 and TVOC demo.

Good to know before you start

  • Free GPIOs: 2–8, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 18, plus BOOT and UART0.
  • Resistive touch needs a firm press, but works with gloves and a stylus.
  • Portrait and landscape are both supported in LCD Ultra Pro.
  • The 3.95-inch MaTouch Lite is the larger version with the same touch controller.

What it is good for

  • •Low-cost sensor dashboards
  • •Air-quality and climate monitors
  • •Workshop panels used with gloves
  • •Learning ESP32-S3 and LVGL
